In Valpolicella, as every year, Mezzane di Sotto (Verona) devotes the last two weekends of November to celebrate the extra virgin olive oil.

The appointment with the Festival is for 22nd, 23rd, 24th, 30th November and 1st December.

The location is in Villa Maffei Benini, seat of the Town Hall, where gastronomic and artisanal stands will be set up.

With its rich flavor and its incredible quality in defense of our health, extra virgin oil is essential for the Italian culinary tradition.

During these days, in the heated marquee in the park of Villa Maffei, you can try dishes prepared with local products and enjoy, of course, a glass of Valpolicella or Soave wine.

To mark this occasion, also music events and performances are scheduled.

The Municipal Library of Mezzane, “Andrea Porta”, then organizes in the Room of the Frescoes of Villa Maffei Benini, the Photographic Exhibition “Corners of Lexinia”, with photos by the professional photographer Marco Malvezzi.

In the same location, the Table of Used Books, the Theatre Space (dedicated to theatrical culture), a Childrens Space and the Social Media Corner (dedicated to the use of social media) are also set up.

Not just oil …

Going to the “Festa dell’Olio della Valle di Mezzane 2019” (Extra Virgin Olive Oil Festival) is also a good opportunity to discover the territory of the beautiful Mezzane Valley that lives on agriculture.

In addition to extra virgin olive oil, Mezzane di Sotto with its excellent wineries produces Valpolicella and Soave wines, within two important and internationally appreciated DOC.
